By 2030, ensure that all women and men, including youth and persons with disabilities, have access to full and productive employment and decent work, and full adoption of the principle of equal pay for equal work.

Protecting the rights of workers and promoting safe working environments for all workers, including migrant workers and people in precarious jobs, especially women migrants.

Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association plans to play an important role in supporting Goal 8 by promoting sustainable economic growth and creating decent job opportunities in the leather and leather products industry. It will contribute to building a more inclusive and sustainable economy by prioritizing fair work practices, promoting job creation and supporting economic development.

Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association;

  1. Employment creation and employment opportunities: May actively work to create new job opportunities in the leather and leather products industry. It will include supporting entrepreneurship, fostering innovation and collaborating with educational institutions to align industry needs with the skills of the workforce.
  2. Decent working conditions: It will promote fair and safe working conditions in the leather and leather products industry. It will include promoting compliance with labor laws and standards, ensuring fair wages, providing access to social protection and prioritizing the health and safety of workers.
  3. Skills development and capacity building: It will support skills development and capacity building initiatives to increase the knowledge and competencies of workers in the leather and leather products industry. Training programs to improve employability and career advancement opportunities will include providing apprenticeships and vocational training.
  4. Supply chain transparency and responsible sourcing: It will encourage its members to prioritize responsible sourcing practices, including ethical working standards, throughout the leather and leather products supply chain. This will include promoting transparency, fair trade and responsible purchasing practices to ensure that the production of leather and leather products is sustainable and compliant with ethical principles.
  5. Collaboration and partnerships: Develop cooperation and partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations and non-governmental organizations, to work collectively for sustainable economic growth and decent work in the leather and leather products industry.
